Wedding Hair and Makeup

I had a lovely day yesterday with Lynne, who married at Mulberry House. Lynne came for a trial last month and we decided an updo was going to be perfect for the wedding day, as her wedding dress was so beautiful and elegant. To achieve her desired hairstyle, I used some hair extensions to add volume and a little hair padding too whilst using the GHD Classic Styler and products from Kenra Professional. Her makeup was kept natural using products from Charlotte Tsilbury and Mac Cosmetics. The florist was the ever amazing TJ Designer Weddings.

I had the pleasure of styling Samanthas bridal party this weekend, at Barnston Lodge. At Samanthas trial we tried so many different styles but we knew that once we had tried an updo, that was definitely the way to go. Samantha brought her wedding dress along to the trial so tried her dress on after each style. I will put up some professional photos once the bride is in possession of these but for now, please find photos I took of the bride and bridesmaids. I styled all the hair on the wedding day and the makeup was carried out by Victoria Taylor. The amazing florist was Fleurtations Flowers.

Beautiful Jemma married at this stunning venue recently. She made the perfect choice as Blake Hall is an absolutely breathtaking wedding venue. Jemma also had the most amazing photographer, called White Stag Weddings. Just look at these beautiful photos, she has captured Jemma perfectl. I styled Jemmas hair using Kenra Professional products, using the GHD Eclipse styler, to help create the large curls needed to create this beautiful hairstyle.

I had the pleasure of styling beautiful bride Laura and her Maid of Honour Amy and her bridesmaids at the stunning Crondon Park. They were so lucky with the weather, the sun shone all day long. I loved styling the girls, they both had wonderful hair and were looking for very different hairstyles. I styled their hair using Kenra Professional products and I used the classic GHD Styler to create the perfect loose waves in Amys hair.

It’s definitely Prom season. Here are some of the lovely young girls who have had their hair and makeup styled for their special evening. Venues included Boreham House, Stock Brook Manor and Pontlands Park.

I know this may come as a surprise to some of you, but trashing the wedding dress a few months after the wedding is becoming quite a thing! Some brides like to trash their dress for many different reasons. Some, because they had lots of problems with the dress in the lead up to the wedding, or had trouble with it on the day and a few just do not want it sitting up in the loft for years to come and there are also a few brides, who just want to have the fun of a Trash the Dress shoot. You can even decide how you would like to trash the dress. My recent bride trashed her dress at a couple of locations. Starting at the Seven Sisters Cliffs in Sussex then onto Beachy Head before finishing up in the sea. What a wonderfully brave lady Stephanie was and so much fun too. All you need is a good photographer, a hair and makeup artist to make you look extra special and a bride. The photographer on the day was Scott from The Edge. We all had the most fabulous day, such great fun with lots of laughs and we finished up the day with Stephanie, the bride, piling her wet trashed dress into a big black bin liner, ready for the bin. I first met Victoria two months ago, when she came to me for her wedding hair trial. Victorias’ hair was quite short and blonde and very fine. She wanted her hair to have lots of volume on her wedding day so we tried lots of different techniques with an array of different coloured hair extensions, which I keep here, to find the perfect match for her hair. We found the perfect set and then styled her hair beautifully.

Victoria kept in touch with me throughout the entire time from first contact right through to her wedding day which was yesterday. It was a very early start as Victoria had a large bridal party so we had to get started by 7.15am for a 1.30pm wedding. I styled the bride, bridesmaids and mother of bride and flower girl, so it was a very busy fun filled morning. Victoria actually called me before I left my home at 6.30am, to ask if I had any calpol as her daughter was a little unwell and there were no shops open. Having four children of my own, I had plenty in supply! Her beautiful daughter was soon back to her happy little self shortly after receiving the medicine.

Victoria decided to hire the extensions from me for her wedding day, as she knew it would be unlikely that she would wear them again. Her hair looked absolutely stunning yesterday. I then went on to style the three adult bridesmaids, mother of the bride and flower girl, all with plenty of time left over for them all to get dressed in a very calm relaxing environment. The photos I have taken are by me, but I look forward to posting professional photos as soon as Victoria has received these. Thank you Victoria for being a fabulous bride, you were so calm. It was also lovely to work alongside the lovely Hayley and Tegan who were Front of House and looking after her throughout the day. I met with this wonderful lady, Rebekah, when she came for her hair and makeup trial last month. Her wedding was very last minute as her husband has a new job abroad and they had to bring their wedding day forward. They literally had a few weeks to get organised. I loved my trial with Rebekah, such a wonderful bride. I styled her hair and makeup at the trial and then went to her venue, Gosfield Hall, to get her and her mother ready on her wedding morning.

Gosfield Hall is such a beautiful wedding venue, full of class. Rebekah stayed at the Ladys’ Chambers the evening before so it helped make the wedding day go very smoothly. Here are some pictures I took of Rebekahs hair. Im not brilliant at taking photos, so I will be chasing her photographer, Ben from www.lavenhamphotography.co.uk who will have captured her wedding day perfectly.

It was also lovely to work alongside the Front of House manager on the day, Catherine Yarrow. Catherine is so calm and can take the stress out of any wedding morning. I had a fabulous time preparing all the Models for the Catwalk at the recent Brentwood Wedding Show in Essex. Crazily busy day but great fun too, especially when you have Beauty and the Beast playing all day! Thank you to all the fabulous Models for being so patient, you were all so wonderful.
