I have worked with this lovely family for many years and have styled all the sisters for their wedding day.  Last Friday their ‘little brother’ was getting married, the last of them all,  so they asked me to style them all again for this very emotional day.  I was amazed at the colourful array of hats and outfits.  They could have all been going to Ladies Day at Ascot.

This is beautiful Birte.  I used hair extensions and padding to create this beautiful hairstyle.  Birte married at the stunning Gosfield Hall Wedding venue, where she had exclusive use for the entire day and night.  

I loved styling  these beautiful young lady for her prom at Hylands House.  Such a stunning venue with exclusive use.

I loved working at Newland Hall this weekend.  Such a stunning wedding venue!  I enjoyed stying beautiful Julie and her wedding party, carrying out hair and makeup for them all.  Julia had the most beautiful yet simple wedding dress which she bought off the peg from Monsoon.  I thought she looked so elegant.  She had just below shoulder length hair and wanted a nice romantic hairstyle.  We managed to create this beautiful hairstyle without using any hair extensions or padding, just her own beautiful hair.  Her stunning hair accessory came from John Lewis and is very affordable too.  

I had a wonderful time last week with my beautiful bride Ruth.  When Ruth came for her trial, we carried out a few styles to try and find the perfect look for her dress.  After trying out a few, Ruth settled on her hair being up.  She then headed straight to her final dress fitting, with her hair all up, certain this was the perfect style.   Soon afterwards, Ruth contacted me and said she was so pleased she went for her dress fitting as the updo did not suit her dress at all and her dress needed a more romantic feminine look and her hair definitely needed to be  down.  We had already tried a few styles out at her trial so we knew where we were heading and it was an absolute joy to create such a lovely romantic hair and makeup look for her wedding day.  Here is Ruth in her beautiful dress made by Justin Alexander.  Ruths’ beautiful flowers were by the amazing Lily and May at the most stunning wedding venue Braxted Park.

I had such a lovely morning with bride Vicki and her wedding party.  Vicki married at the most stunning venue, Gosfield Hall.  Gaynor, who was the co-ordinator on the day, was just amazing and made the entire morning run so smoothly.   Vicky had very fine hair so I enjoyed showing her what a few hair extensions and padding can do.   Vicki looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day.

I don’t want to speak to soon but could Summer be on the horizon at last?  I have had such a hectic few months styling lots of wonderful brides having wedding hair and makeup in Essex.  I have been working regularly at Gosfield Hall, Mulberry House, Leez Priory and Maidens Barn alongside many other Essex venues.  Here are a few before and after hairstyles.  I do not normally upload these kind of photos but I think sometimes its important to see the difference hair length, extensions and padding can make and what I can actually achieve with your own hair.

Working in the wedding industry, I get to work alongside some of the finest wedding suppliers week after week and every now and then I find myself working alongside a supplier that certainly stands out.  I was so impressed with Scott Miller Photography  that I feel I just have to give him a mention.  I worked with Scott at Gosfield Hall recently and have only just received some of the photos of my bride at the beautiful venue, Gosfield Hall.  To say I am so impressed is a huge understatement!   Scott Miller is so talented along with being just a really really nice guy.   He works very discreetly, capturing the most amazing images without you even realising.  I approached Scott to see if he had a nice image of my bride I could use, I expected to maybe find one or two that I liked but I ended up asking for so many that I have decided to put a handful of them on here.  This is only a snapshot of the wedding day.  Scotts amazing imagination and his amazing lighting are stunning .   Have a look through these photos of my bride Jemima and see how Scott has captured her magic of her day.

Does this sound familiar to you?  Do you find you spend ages curling your hair to find it starts to fall out straight away?  Hair has a lot to do with genetics and how well your hair holds its shape.  Although having fine, straight hair may seem effortless, anyone with this hair type will tell you just how difficult it can be to achieve long-lasting curls.

As much as we all love soft and romantic curls, we would all much rather have curls that we can be sure will last all day. My first piece of advice for making this achievable is to choose the right products for your hair. I recommend Kenra Professional Firm Hold Mousse! Simply apply this to damp hair before blow-drying and then you can start to style. One of the most effective methods I find when curling hair, is to use a curling iron – after wrapping your hair around the iron, hold the curl and let it cool down before letting it go. By doing so, you are allowing the hair cuticle to close and set the hair in place. If you find your curls still drop, then take each fresh curl and wrap around a medium sized Roller. Continue this with the rest of your hair and allow the hair to cool before removing the rollers. Make sure to leave the curls for a few minutes before brushing them through, and then finish off the style with a good hairspray, I recommend Kenra Professional Superhold Finishing Spray by Kenra Professional. This will ensure you have romantic curls all day long!  This is exactly what I did with Bride Jemima who married at the weekend at Gosfield Hall.  She had beautiful hair for the entire day and lasting right through the weekend.  

Spent yesterday morning with beautiful Daisy and her bridal party styling their hair for the wedding at the amazing Gaynes Park Barnes in Epping.  Daisy wanted her hair to be half up with lots of tumbling curls falling around her face.
